The scope of this tool, stated plainly.

Notice

This tool does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. Verify your tax registration status and current requirements before issuing an invoice.

What that means in practice

This tool performs arithmetic on numbers you supply and lays the result out as a document. It does not know your registration status, your place of supply, which of your services are taxable, or what the current rate is on the day you issue the document — in any of the countries it offers.

The tax rate box starts with a suggested value that does nothing until you confirm it, and the confirmation resets whenever you change the rate or the country. That is the tool being explicit that the number is your decision, not its.

Choosing a country changes labels, a default currency and a suggested rate. It is a presentation preset, not a compliance feature: it makes no claim that a document is valid, complete or correctly formatted anywhere.

For anything turning on your actual obligations — whether to register, whether to charge tax, what rate applies, how to treat a particular supply — rely on the tax authority for your own country and on a qualified accountant who knows your circumstances, rather than on a free browser tool. The help text under the rate field names the relevant authority for the country you have selected.

No warranty

The arithmetic is unit-tested, including the rounding and discount edge cases, and the tests run on every build. That is a reason for confidence, not a guarantee. Check a document before you send it, and check the first one you produce against your own records carefully.

Questions

Is the suggested rate in the tool the current rate?

Treat it as a placeholder, not as a fact. It is a starting value so the field is not empty, and it may be out of date by the time you read this. Two countries deliberately pre-fill nothing at all. Confirm the current rate with your own tax authority.

Can I rely on this for my tax filing?

No. It produces a document; it does not keep books, and it is not an accounting system of record. Keep your own records and use professional advice for filing.

Limitations

  • Not tax, legal or accounting advice.
  • No rate, threshold or rule shown in this tool is guaranteed to be current.
  • The tool makes no determination about your registration status or obligations, in any country.
  • Country presets are labels and defaults. They are not a claim of compliance with any jurisdiction.
  • The arithmetic is tested but carries no warranty; verify documents before issuing them.
